Gods little blessings

I got a free new vacuum today! I have needed one since the day I got a hand me down from my parents. But who really wants to spend $ on a vacuum. The good ones are expensive, and if I bought a cheap one I knew it would break or something, so I just held off! Good thing.

We participated in a lead program this summer. The city inspects your house to make sure there is no lead dust, paint etc. We qualified for the program and were accepted. Our home passed the inspection but they still did so much stuff. They cleaned ALL of our window sills (a big job which I haven't done in the 3 years we have been here). They did a really nice job, they even oiled all of the wooden sills so they look really nice! They painted our kitchen ceiling and our outside door. They vacuumed with a special vacuum just in case ther was lead dust. So it was a nice program, especially those (most others who participated, I hear) who do have lead still in their homes. Anyway along the way I heard something about a free vacuum, I didn't think it pertained to us since we were lead free. Well I got a call last night asking if I'd be home at 10 so they could drop off my vacuum. Of course I would be.

Needless to say I vacuumed ALL day! I got a new (worth $150) Hoover WindTunnel vacuum. It is so cool. It has these lights..one red..one green to tell you when a spot is clean or dirty. MY HOUSE WAS REALLY DIRTY. It took at least an hour to do my living room and dining room. It has a hepa filter and all these attachments. I am excited to vacuum. I have such a clean carpet now!!

So I just wanted to share my excitement of a new vacuum..I got my hair cut today too, and found a new dish drainer (nice one) for $3 and shirts for Ethan for $1.48. ILOVE GOOD DEALS!!! I guess today was a pretty OK day. Thank you GOd for blessing us in little ways.

yippee, now we can come over and play on your fresh carpet! Isn't it amazing what a difference clean floors make in the atmosphere of your home? I did a thorough sweep and mop of our first floor yesterday (we have all wood floors on the main level for those of you who haven't been here.) Too bad it already looks like it needs it again!

Well, congratulations! I have been wanting a vacuum for quite some time. Our old hand-me-down one died long ago so when I want to vacuum I have to get Andy's shop vac from the garage. Okay I'm rambling now, it's late. Just waiting for Andy to get home from the IHOP. Sorry for taking up so much space on your blog, lol!

Okay you want to know how anal I am about spelling mistakes? That was me deleting my previous post to correct one misspelled word.

Oh man, Flobie (or whatever it was called)? Those vacuum haircutting attachments were all the rave at Walmart in hick towns across the countries a few years back - it might even be hitting states like Nebraska and Montana by now. Kelly was complaining about how our vacuum stopped working and said she hated it. So I asked if she'd emptied it lately -- sure, just a few minutes ago. I opened it up and sure, the main dust holding area is clear, but the hole going to that point where all the stuff comes in through? Completely blocked by glass and nails and carpet chunks and pennies and all kinds of crap. I cleared the 5 pounds of stuff (probably would fill one of those large paper grocery bags) and the vacuum started to suck again - in a good way.

Kelly continued to hate the vacuum.

Hi Donna ! I was going to try to email you but I couldn't find your email address. I saw that you were living in Cleveland and was wondering if you could tell me what the city was like. I was thinking about moving there for graduate study but I hear mixed reviews about it. I figured since you were in my age bracket and that you lived there, you could probably paint me a good picture of it. If you could write me back, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks! My email address is BethlehemBeauty@aol.com
