Wordless Wednesday: Can't wait for this!

Photobucket

Traveling

We will be traveling this July. We always go to the same place, but we almost couldn't get the cabins we usually get. We were looking for cheap hotels that were near the lake that we usually stay. We had no luck. Finally the lady who owns the cabins called and let us know one was still available. Yeah! Praying for great weather!

Pay it Forward

Have you heard of this game? Well back in October I signed up over at Joanna's blog and was actually one of the top 3!! She is working on something and I can't wait, her stuff is beautiful!! I will start my pay it forward...but I am going to to do 1 extra person, for a total of 4. What I am offering to do is paint a piece of pottery for you. My brothers girlfriend had a pottery studio in her basement and I have been going to classes. I have done a few things and I enjoy it, just not sure how much pottery stuff I need myself.

I will send out a questionnaire to those who "win" and decide what I will make for you. I may give you a few choices too, not sure how to work that.

Here is the deal:

It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s based of the concept of the movie “Pay it Forward” where acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on. You all know I’m already a PIF type of person. So here’s how it works. I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

SO...on your marks get set...Comment!

The first 4 to comment who are willing to PAY OT FORWARD to at least 3 others will be my lucky recipients.

Menu Plan Monday

I actually sat down this morning and planned some meals. I am only doing 1 week shopping instead of 2 today, so hubby and I chose 5 meals.
All are from Simple and Delicious, 1 from Taste of Home.
I don't assign days, I make what I feel like that particular day=)

Menu Plan Monday

Here they are:

Fiesta Chicken Chowder
Turkey Cabbage Bake
Meaty Corn Bread Casserole
Broccoli Cheese Soup
Chicken Lo Mein
(our favorite takeout Chinese food, so we will try to make it on our own, I will let you know how it is!!)

(My husband loves casserole...stuff all mixed together! He chose most of them!)

**Stay tuned tomorrow to get a chance to get something from ME!**

We've joined

...the club of stitches and split chins today.

That's right, my baby boy had to get 3 stitches under his chin today.
My first time as a mom to take my kid to the hospital for an accident.
(Thank goodness we were with friends...God knew I needed someone with me)

He was incredibly brave and barely cried.
(Good thing I grabbed a whole box of fruit snacks...which were the culprit in the first place...he was climbing on the table to get them)

His best friend was there with him and all he wanted to do was go play with him in the
waiting room.

(Good thing E packed his book bag full of toys that morning)

Pretty...forever

If you are anything like me, you are NOT good at keeping plants alive.
I am getting better, or lucky.
I tend to be beckoned by the silk flowers section at the craft stores!
They are so realistic looking nowadays, and they last forever, even if you never remember to put them in the sun or water them!!

Convenience

We have so many conveniences nowadays. Such a spoiled era we are. TV's, hundreds of cars to choose from, phones that can go anywhere with you, computers that give you instant access to MANY things, the list goes on forever. We can even buy our own ellipticals and work out in our homes.
It is an amazing world we live in=)

Good Thing

Good thing we only have a small, small business. I can't imagine having to do everything those larger businesses have to do. Paperwork, finances, financial reporting, ugh. I just couldn't handle that. I can't even handle the little bit of stuff that I have to do each month. I am so behind, and it is only April. I better get a move on it.

Wordless Wednesday

Lotion Face

On the way to the zoo Ethan was a bit eager to get his sun lotion on.
It wasn't until I was in McD's drive thru and the lady started laughing hysterically, that I turned around and noticed the funny mess.
He was so proud that he did it all by himself!
Silly kids.

Never

Never can we find comfortable, warm, affordable work boots for my husband in the winter.
He usually works in tennis shoes in the Summer, but in the Winter we always come to that dreaded shopping trip to find the right work boot for him.
I hope a large site like this will help in the headache of this process.

A God Thing

I thought this was something I should share.
Testimony is great prophesy.

Saturday I was preparing for the Sunday school class I had to teach the next day.
I went to our still overflowing bowl of Easter candy, and was trying to find a candy that there was a lot of.
I chose smarties.
There were 11 packages of smarties, and then I chose Hershey kisses, there were also 11 (without nuts...you never know about allergies).
I said a quick little prayer, "Lord let there be only 11 kids, that would be neat."

Sunday comes and I am counting kids to see if I can give the kids one of each candy or not.
Guess what?
There were exactly 11 kids=)

It is great that He has a sense of humor=)

Today

Ethan and I went to the zoo today!
Merci gets to go with her class soon, so we took advantage of the beautiful day.
It was very nice, not too crowded, but there were a lot of animals not on exhibit, there were barely any food stands etc opened.
We renewed our membership today, so we will definitely go back.

My husband in currently next door working on the roof...OH MY.
Now I know why I don't think about what he does at work.
He reminded me of the spider monkeys at the zoo=)

So Annoyed

My voice is going.
I am not sure why, allergies, coughing, lots of snot??
Anyway, to conserve my voice I have been whispering a lot.
And to this I get a lot of "What did you say" and whispers back.
Both of which are annoying me.

I hate that when we moms are sick, we have to still suffer through the day, like any other.
Just leave me alone, I can't talk=( It hurts=( and I have to teach Sunday school in the morning=(

Flaunt it Friday!

Just because the weather is getting warmer doesn't mean the ice cream truck should drive around the neighborhood all night an annoy us parents.

With that being said, let me tell you what this weeks Flaunt it Friday topic is all about!

Your favorite childhood TV show.

It was really hard for me to decide so I will name a few I remember watching ALL the time.

I guess these are from when I was a bit older but, I loved them and never missed a show.

1.) Saved By The Bell
I was a huge Zack fan!!!

2.) Family Matters
Steve Urkel is the best!
Where are shows like this for our kids to watch??

3.) Full House
I had a crush on Uncle Jesse=)

4.) Does anyone remember ALF??
I was crushed when they stopped airing it.

I think I need to buy all these seasons to these shows so my kids can enjoy be annoyed that I made them watch these silly shows them like I did

There you have it , My Friday Best!

There will BE

one day when we will need magnifiers to see what it is we are trying to see. It is an inevitable thing we will all face as we age.
So don't laugh at those old people you see reading with magnifying glasses, because there will come the time that person is YOU.

I am not even 30 and sometime it takes my eyes awhile to adjust, sad to say.
I better start eating more carrots!

Relaxing

In the craziness of life, sometime you just need something to help you relax. A little alcohol never hurt anyone. Some studies even indicate that wine is good for you, so why not indulge. Wine is very complex though, you have to know what to eat it with, what type you like etc to get the fullness of what it has to offer. Riedel is a great place to find out all you need to know about wine!
It is my goal to one day know what I am talking about when I talk about wine!

Red Worms & YEAH

Would you think I was disgusting if we decided to do Red Worm Composting?

I read an article in Wonder Time, that made me want to do so.
Josh has been very interested in the idea for some time, and I am not
so sure about the nasty worms.

I wonder if this is why God gave both my children a liking for worms?
(Seriously they play with worms all summer long, they make homes for them etc, CRAZY)

After a scare my iphone is working again.
I knew the battery had been low but I couldn't get anything to work, it wouldn't even charge.
But thanks to the great old internet I figured out how to get it on, so I could charge it.
Close call.

Monday Mornings

Are always so blah.
Waking up to a long week ahead and the weekend mess.

I am still fighting my allergies, all the snot is settling in my chest and it hurts to breathe, much better today than yesterday though.

Taxes are due tomorrow, YIKES.
Living off our saving for 3 months, left us with little, but thanks be to God we will probably skim by.

Our accountant last year never told us about paying quarterly taxes. As new business owners we didn't realize this was a good thing to do.
Will definitely be doing so this year!

We have my moms dog, Meeka, with us for today, I may take a picture, but since my camera is out getting fixed I only have my phone, which isn't too great.

Lots of cleaning and running around, catching up on my school reading and hopefully getting a nap in there too.

The weekend was refreshing, got to get some shopping done without kids on Saturday, went to a wonderful friends baby shower on Sunday and got to be with friends I haven't seen in awhile, it is hard juggling family, other commitments and friend when you get older.
It refreshed me, I thrive on relationships, friendships, and haven't got much of that lately.

We have pledged to watch way less TV, maybe even unplugging for a month
(that is kind scary for me, I like to use it when my patience is shot, it is helpful for all of us.)
But if we can manage to have self control, unplugging won't be necessary.
And I bet you all know self control is HARD.

Talking about HARD, it is hard to be still and really listen for God to speak to you.
But I am working on it.

Happy Monday!

A little weekend FUNNY

1. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO
HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.

2. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT BY USING THE
SINK.

3. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW
MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO USE A TIMER.

4. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING
OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.

5. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN YOU'LL BE
AFRAID TO COUGH.

6. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND
SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

7. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS.

5 more & Silly

Only 5 more posts until my 700th, isn't that crazy??
I have been blogging for so long.

And onto cuter things.
I was looking through a book of animals with E boy today, and there was a picture of this:

Grasshopper

When I asked him what it was he responded:

Hopgrasser...LOL.
I kept making him say it so I could laugh=)

I love that boy.

A bit

A bit of stuff you may or may not want to know=)
Yesterday I sold, my husbands old cell phone (Treo 750), a scanner, 2 sets of Crayola Color Wonder finger paints, some of Ethan old eye patches on EBay! Made about $275.
Also have a few others selling that end later this week.

I made a really YUMMY dinner.
Pineapple Salsa Crock Pot Chicken
I added brown rice to the crock pot (at the end) and a few tortilla chips for topping.
We all loved it, you could add more chicken and it would be fine.
SO EASY and the kids even ate it.

The weather is beautiful, but feelings are blue.

I didn't get a break from house work, I HAD to do laundry, and cook.
(we ate out all weekend, otherwise I wouldn't have)

You MUST celebrate

Did you know today is NO HOUSEWORK DAY???

I will try my hardest to participate..though I think it is impossible=)
Good idea though.

If I would have know sooner I would have stayed out and shopped some more...LOL.

Pens

As you all mostly know, Josh and I have our own business. When we first registered as a business we got so much junk mail trying to get us to buy all sorts of different advertising stuff. From door hangers to magnets, to personalized pens, to all sorts of other things we would never need. It was annoying, but some places even sent trials of their products with our company name on them.We go some really nice pens, and I felt so cool using a pen with our company name and address on them=) Even if nobody else saw them.

Getaway

Do you have someone in your life that needs a golf getaway?
I don't. My husband doesn't golf.
But I know lots of people who would love to go getaway to a Branson private golf lodge, villa or even consider buying a home there.

It sure is beautiful and luxurious there though!
I can't wait to be old and retired so I can to beautiful places like this=)
I will sure be nice to not have to find babysitters anymore, but don't get me wrong, I am enjoying this time with my kids while I can. They are much more entertaining than golf...haha.

The Great Debate

We have been talking about buying a flat screen TV. My hubby has his on a nice big one, of course. The problem with the house we are in is that the living room has almost no wall space to mount a tv mount for a flat screen. One wall has 3 big windows and the front door, one wall has a small window up high, the biggest wall has a big archway and to hang the TV you wouldn't be able to position the couches to see it, the other wall would make the TV too close and you would get sick from watching such a big TV so close. We are still debating getting one at this house or not, and searching for a likable TV stand.

Why????

Can't people be nice?
Don't they realize what they say and their actions can effect the rest of someones day??
I am going to try hard to remember this, because I wouldn't want to be the one to cause another to be upset.

Maybe I am just too sensitive, but people are so inconsiderate.

AND

On top of that the kids kept arguing, fighting, saying mean stuff to each other.

I was at exploding point, not they are in bed
(yep, I even made my 7 year old take a nap, after threatening to be grounded to her room for the day).

I hope they sleep a LONG time.

A million

Things I have planned to blog about for awhile and never did!

So here is a long to post with pictures to make up for it. Sorry if it is boring, but this is my place to document stuff and these are some things I don't want to forget!

~My grandma is officially moved.
I was the last one at the old house the other night, it was totally empty.
It was very emotional and I am glad I had some alone time there to cry:(
I am 27 and EVERY holiday in my life was celebrated there with my family, not to mention other memories we made there. Josh and I at one time thought we would purchase it, but it was not our time.

I left a business card on the counter (on Tuesday) since the house is a slate roof (my husbands business), and he already e-mailed us to take a look at a few things.

~Here is a picture of E and his friend N with the easter bunny. They are best friends, only a few weeks apart me and his mom we preggo together, it was fun!

~The cutest puppy dog ever:

~A night of monopoly, 10 people, 5 boards and after 6 hours we still weren't done.
So much fun though. E stayed up till 2 am watching Spiderman 1 and 2 with my aunt.

~I was getting my make-up done, E decided to do his own.

~One of my bros, isn't he cute?

I will leave it at that, and finish up another time.

::Cool:: & ::NOT Cool::

::I want Josh to make me one of these: cool fire pits
Did I ever tell you that my husband can do anything!!??::

::I heard about this magazine and might subscribe to it::

::I was told about a great Christian station, that plays hip music::

::My hubby came home the other day and put a $50 bill in my shirt, going here to spend it::
(I am a boring jeans and t-shirt girl)

Update: The Not Cool

I have been cleaning like a mad women today, the house is just a mess, and I am sick of it.
I guess I missed when Ethan took a popscicle out of the freezer and put it in my PURSE.
What the heck??

I started laughing at myself and I am yelling, "Why did you put the popsicle in my purse? Does mommy put popscicles in her purse??" LOL.

But seriously, who puts popsicles in purses?
A homemade on with yogurt and raspberries at that.

Mess 3

The leftover stick.

Mess 2

Oh..and yeah, that is my camera covered in melted goo, I used my iphone to take pics.
You can just rinse camera's off.

Mess 1

I was on my way out the door, needless to say I grabbed my license and left.

???Does a mom ever get a break???

A Love Letter

My daughter brought this love letter home form a 3rd grade boy:

Mercy (Merci is the correct way):

I feel lucky to know your sweet, beautiful, your hair remings me of beautiful shining gold. Your eyes reming me of sweet pouls of clear, blue water. I'am the luckeyest guy in the world to meet you.
-Joe K.

*spelling errors are his

Oh my gosh. What would you do if your daughter brought home a letter like this??
It is cute and I will keep it for her scrapbook, but geesh, they are way to young for this.

I am not sure if this was a school assignment or not, it was on a clover and on the top it said I feel lucky to know you.

Oh dear, we better watch out.

Reminiscing

Reminiscing on when it was my time to pick out
Wedding Invitations
Do you remember picking yours out?
Did you find what you want or did you have to settle for something else?

Because my wedding was planned in 3 months and I was young I picked out the cheapest ones I could find. They were cute, but not too much though went into it, besides the price. Don't get me wrong they weren't ugly!

I have 3 brothers and my husband has 4 brothers and 1 sister that still need to be married.
I can't wait to help!!

Nowadays it is so easy to pick what you want and get it exactly how you want it.

The soft white rose velum is very, very close if not exactly what I had!!!

But if I was planning my wedding all over or got to choose for someone else I would probably pick the Elegant White with Ribbon, from the bow category, it is classy, different, yet simple.

weddingivite

I would add some color to it though.
The lettering would match the color theme for the wedding and the bow would too.
It would be so cute!!

I really like how you can order a sample before you make your final decision!
1st Class Wedding Invitations is perfect for any bride!
