A Love Letter

My daughter brought this love letter home form a 3rd grade boy:

Mercy (Merci is the correct way):

I feel lucky to know your sweet, beautiful, your hair remings me of beautiful shining gold. Your eyes reming me of sweet pouls of clear, blue water. I'am the luckeyest guy in the world to meet you.
-Joe K.

*spelling errors are his

Oh my gosh. What would you do if your daughter brought home a letter like this??
It is cute and I will keep it for her scrapbook, but geesh, they are way to young for this.

I am not sure if this was a school assignment or not, it was on a clover and on the top it said I feel lucky to know you.

Oh dear, we better watch out.

First, I would contact the teacher and see if it was an assignment (it sort of sounds like one). Then I would think that this young man has a future in writing poetry (or at least Hallmark greeting cards) and finally I would laugh. Of course they are "too young" but little kids have been writing love notes since we have been writing anything. Now if he's asking her to go to the movies and share his popcorn... :)

WOW! That was a powerful, very descriptive, and way too mature sounding letter! Yeah...beware the teenage years ahead!
