Allergy gone??

Well I think I have some good news. As of last week, which was also the week Ethan turned 1, we have noticed Ethan's allergy to milk products has improved. Even up to a few weeks ago ANYTHING with whey in it would give the guy very loose bowel movements. Well on his birthday Grandma and Grandpa came over bringing him one of those chocolate hostess cupcakes withthe creme in the middle. 2 strikes, but I couldn't deny him a cupcake on his birthday. Earlier that day I had also given him a small taste of pudding, and cheese. No reaction! Since then he has had ice creeam, lactose free milk, and mac n cheese, and many other yummy things he could never have before. No reaction yet!!! YEAH GOD! I will try real milk this week, since he isn't reacting to cheese and ice cream. Just wanted to pass along the exciting news. Pray that this continues and isn't just a freak thing!

Well we were kind prying, knowing most kids grow out of it. I was just praying that he wouldn't have to live with it forever. I was hard to eat stuff in fornt of him!

Donna I know you love your dairy, but I have to say everything dairy disgusts me since it is more or less just rotten cow udder juice. But being a cheese hater made my mothers life difficult and b/c you are the mom I suppose I will support you in your non-reacting son, but I'm also going to save a high five for Ethan for at least being smart enough to reject dairy in the first year of his life.

Yay! Congrats to you! It is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING how many things have whey in them, isn't it? My niece and nephew were also lactose intolerant and both of them improved at 12 mos as well! It was Lactaid and no-whey for what seemed like forever! Yay for you and little Ethan!! :)

Loose bowels sound very uncomforting... I'm most pleased that I won't have to hear that phrase again; maybe that is the true miracle. No more saying "loose bowels"!

Congrats Ethan! You're such a cute little guy! I'll pray that the allergy does not come back and it's gone forever! So, Donna when do you want us to watch Ethan again! Maybe next time instead of having a Frap at Starbucks in front of him and not letting him taste any we could give him a taste or we could take him out for a little ice cream! Yummy

hahahaha, Donna you're so funny! Well, Jason had to play golf at 8:30 this morning, I tried to sleep in but I could go back to sleep=( poor Kelly. So what are you doing tonight? I'll call you.
