I don't like tofu. Not because it's gross or anything...it just doesn't really *taste* like anything. I dunno...I like things that pack a punch, ya know?
I have used tofu sometimes. It's quite interesting. It works best with a good marinade or some good spices... it really takes on the flavor of whatever you're cooking it with. It's good for you, so if you can figure out a way to make it palatable to you then KUDOS!Also, you probably already know, but there are different types of tofu (firm, soft, silken, extra-firm, organic, etc.) and it really does matter which one you buy depending on how you're using it in a recipe.If your first experience is a flop (like mine was) don't give up!
Ive had Tofu. Its not bad. But its not my favorite ;-)
can't wait to hear your reaction. i think it is so-so. the best way i ever had it prepared was when we were living at the apartments. we invited our korean next door neighbors over for dinner. and she said " i'll bring the tofu" i thought okay......a little container of cold tofu to go with the chicken. but no, it was cooked hot in squares with this delicious sauce. of course i've never had it like that since...
Yes let us know. I've never had it but would like to try it.
I'm with Jason - no go on the tofu for me!! But, maybe I should heed Autumn's advice - maybe my first try was just a flop.

Tofu basically has no flavor of its own. I think you have to go take a class in oriental cooking or something to be able to make it a welcome addition to your table. I love the little squares in sauce (bean curd they call it) in Chinese restaurants.
