on the verge...

of giving up.

Trying to do everything, cook, clean, choose the perfect gifts, spend time with family in town, thinking (can't do more than think at this moment) about packing this whole house by Jan 10., getting outfits clean and ready for here there and the next place, getting kids the appropriate rest for late nights, on and on and on....

with a grumpy husband who is not being a help...

Why do I do this?? I give up. It doesn't make anyone happy anyway.

Merry Christmas everyone....

I will enjoy myself, we will make memories and we will have a wonderful time despite this likttle hump I have to get over....by 6:30...yikes.

A few randome tid-bits from this week...

*Ethan kissed me when I was helping at his school Happy Birthday Jesus party. He said, " I love your kisses"..... my heart melted.

*I think the cat peed on my coat.

*My husband was gone for 3 whole days and I realized how much I love him and NEED him.

*I feel like I am neglecting my blog and miss you all.

* I am not sure if I want my kitties anymore.

*I am sick or putting ornaments, lights and bead back on my tree everyday.

* I am sick of spending $.

* I am sick of food.

*It is almost time to do a year in review blog post...already.

*I am going to read now.

Good night.

drained

Running all over, baking, shopping, trying to stay on top of house work, AND packing, and waiting for answers about WHEN.
Oh and let me not forget dealing with 2 kids, their attitudes and own set of problems.
Oh yeah 2 kittens getting into everything, climbing in and out of the tree removing lights, ornaments and beads.

No wonder my head hurts.

Holiday safety tips

Whenever I come across safety tips, I definitely read through them.
You NEVER know when you'll need them.

Liberty Mutual has put together some Fire Safety tips for you around the holidays.

Liberty Mutuals Be Fire Smart

I know especially around the holidays with trees, lights, fires candles etc I am cautious.
I am even afraid to leave the lights on the tree or in the window too long.
You just hear of too many fires during the holidays.

According to the U.S. Fire Administration, nearly 47,000 household fires occur during the holidays each year. Misplaced or dry decorations mixed with fires and candles

Take a few moments to click the link above and get educated.

Enjoy your week and make sure to take some down time to enjoy with your family.

I cannot BELIEVE it

I seriously cannot believe I registered my son for Kindergarten today.
Tomorrow is the deadline for a guaranteed spot in the charter school my kids are going to.
I wanted to cry, I almost did.

The secretary was even in unbelief that he is actually old enough.
But yep, my little baby boy will be 5 on Aug 10.

I am empty nesting.
What will I do??
(oh forget it, I will have PLENTY to do)

Where does time go?

To many place to go...

Did you ever realize there are too many places for your money to go??
You get your paycheck and then you pay this bill, this bill and this bill (maybe your term life insurance, buy these necessities and those....and where is the money left for you??
I mean seriously, I don't even need a lot.
A night out every once in awhile, a new shirt or pair of jean that fit, ya know?
Or maybe some brown shoes, since all the brown shoes you have are summery.

I have been realizing that there are way too many places the money needs to go.
With buying a house, Christmas, school re-enrollment (why in Dec, why??), and our normal bills, there is just no money left.

I am just saying.

Q is for...

Yesterday I was cleaning of the front of the refrigerator..simplifying, removing old pictures, old magnets giving a good wipe down. I saw that all the letters from the Leap Frog Word Whammer were dirty, so I wanted to clean them.

I turned it into a game with E.
He found the letters put them into the whammer to hear what sound they made and then I would clean them...and line them up nicely and in order, since I am anal like that.

He did very well.
We went over all the sounds letters make and he even gave examples of words that started like that.
I was very excited to see how much he knows, since I do not practice with him as much as I should.

Anyway...here are some of his example:

Q says Qu...like Quala (Koala)...LOL
I says i (short sound)...like egg...

Why does the English language have to be so hard...becasue he was kind right...sound wise.

So many Laughs

I recently got the opportunity to review Madagascar 2 Escape to Africa video game for Wii.
(Yep, we are one of the lucky ones who have the Wii for a few years now).

But let me tell you how much fun the hubby and I had testing out this video game!
(We are being frugal and are going to gift this to the kids for Christmas, so instead of them testing it out we did!!)

I am positive the kids will enjoy this game.
It is hilarious.

My absolute favorite is Melman the giraffe ( I am partial to giraffe's anyway), but he uses his legs to fly like a helicopter and at this one part of the game he usies his head to get rid of these gopher things, kinda like whacka mole...I laughted so hard I could barely do the task.

Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria and King Julian are sure to make this a entertaining event for the whole family!

And not only is it fun and funny to play.
There are some great "teaching" moments in it.

Throughout the game you have to collect coins and then you can shop at the Duty Free Shop...I bet your kids don't know anything about duty free...so use this as a teaching moment!

The places you visit are a watering hole, volcano, African Savanah, and the Jungle, so new environments will also give you opportunity to teach your kids about unique environments.

Along with the main, story game you play there are alos a number of small arcade games.
This video game is definitley action packed!

We give it a A!!

Fake vs, Live

I am not sure if I am happy to say it, but this is the first year I have experienced a fake tree.
I have always had live ones, even as a kid, I think we may have had a fake a few times before I left the house, but I was always against it.

My aunt is moving and her tree would have not fit in her new home.
So I took it.
First to save some money cuz I always fall in love with the pricier ones;)
And because not having to vacuum a million times a day, AND because with 2 FRISKY 6 month old kittens, I thought it may be a good idea.

Here is my pro's and con's list, picture to come tomorrow:)

PRO'S

*Very sturdy, kittens have climbed it, slept in the branches, I've leaned on it to hang stuff etc, not falling over!
*Because of all the above poking and prodding, you'd think there'd be needles all over...NOPE...I love it!
*I didn't have to wait for hubby to come with me to Home Depot (our traditional purchasing place) I drug the tree in and put it up all by myself, when I wanted to! (It was kinda heavy, but I managed)
*I can bend brnches to be in the places I want them to be while strategically placing the ornamnets, or bend the branches out of the way for the oposite reason!
*Because of above bending there is literally NO bare spots, and I don't have to trim uneven branches, like I am Edward Scissorhands.
*After Christmas, and when moving time approaches, I will not have to lug the tree throught hte house to the treelawn, while polluting my carpet with prickly needles.
*Becasue the tree was pre-lit (mostly) putting lights on was much easier.
*This is the biggest most beasutiful tree I have ever had!!!
*The darn thing is STRAIGHT, with out any fight!!!

CON'S

*No beautiful piney smell aroma when I walk into the room.
*When a tree is supposed to be pre-lit and you plug in all the plugs and there are strands out in different areas, you aren;t going to check all the darn bulbs to find the culprit, so your gonna have to string lights anyway...RRRR.
(It was free, can I complain??)
*I feel like a cheater.
*No beautiful piney smell aroma when I walk into the room...sigh.
(I don't think I can get past this, but for this year I will.)

An expereince

I am in no way a sales woman.
That is why I didn't do good at selling Tastefully Simple, who would have thought selling yummy food would be hard?? It was.

Since my uncle died a few moths ago my aunt and cousins needed to move out of the house they were living in.
I ever so nicely explained to here how you could sell stuff on-line (craigslist, ebay etc).

And she had A LOT of stuff to sell.
My uncle liked to buy stuff to say the least.

Anyway, I am not complaining about selling all this stuff for her, it isn't hard to list on Craigslist, besides, it is the least I can do to help.
I am gonna complain about the people who want to buy the stuff.

Why do people waste your time and theirs??
They respond saying they want the specific item, set up a time to meet and never come, or cancel last minute.
What the heck.
Or they offer you $100, say for a KING water bed in great shape.
Or $100 for 2 cocktail table arcade games like Space Invaders and Galaxian,
worth about $800 a piece.

I am so annoyed at people.

We won't even talk about the scammers wanting to send you a $3500 cashiers check for your item that will get picked up by some shipper and I will pay the shipper for them...withthat phony check...HAHAH...yeah jerks.

Anybody have an ancient Laser Disc player that they needs hundreds of
Laser disc movies for???

CRAZY busy

We have had so much to do and so little time this week.
Our plans got changed today so we are home and boy does it feel good to be here.
The mess I could do without but, we will get to that tomorrow!

Josh and I did get some time together yesterday too, so that was GREAT=)
I love my hubby.
(He is guaranteed a great present this year, not some corny silk ties, for this daddy!)

I am hoping this week won't be so crazy, but I have a feeling it may be.

I may not be around much, but Tuesday the gas gets turned on out our new house and Wednesday is the inspection...keep your fingers crossed and prayers coming=)

A perk

One of the many perks of the house we are buying is that is already has an
emergency response system alarm already installed.
All we would have to do it get the service for it.
Which we WILL be doing.

Even though the new neighborhood is nicer than our current one, you can never be too safe.
And the fact that it is already there makes it that much easier and cheaper.
I was excited when someone recently told me we'd get a nice savings on our homeowners insurance=) I think it is usually a 20% savings.

We talked many times about getting one installed at the house we rent now, but never actually did it. Last Summer there was an attempted break in right next door when the lady was home, that was pretty scary, but we hoped it wouldn't happen again.
As soon as that happened our neighbor got an alarm system installed and told us how inexpensive it was and how his wife feels so much more secure.

When we heard about the break in we got renters insurance.
Which was something that would protect our possession, but not us if the burglar was armed.
Mine and my children's safety is worth another monthly payment.

Most security company's monitor 24 hours so you know someone will be there even when you aren't. Check your company and see if they offer monitoring for the elderly when they are living at home, and even video surveillance.

Safety is something that needs to be taken more seriously!

And with all those gadgets your husband will be thrilled!!!

FREE RedBox coupon code

Here is Monday's FREE rental code for RedBox:

Good until midnight tonight. If you return your movie by 9PM tomorrow night, you don;t get charged!!

2MNC92

Make sure you hit Rent with Coupon Code on the opening screen to use this code!

Whatever...none of them work anyway

So, I am so sick of hearing and seeing ads everywhere I look about
best diet pill, and the best prices.

EVERYWHERE.

When we know they really don't work, and if they do they probably aren't very good for you and it won't be a long term thing.

The key to weight loss is what you put in your mouth, how much and if you exercise.
That is the bottom line, pills and shots and powders don't work.
I'm sick of hearing about it.

Awesome way to GIVE

Hey everyone.
I just found out about this:

The One Dollar Give

I am so excited because we have decided to GIVE abundantly this Christmas.
Josh really dislikes what the Christmas season has becomes and this prevents him from enjoying the holiday. I asked him ever so nicely to PLEASE be happy this Christmas and not be a grinch, for the sake of the kids.

I suggested we just really focus on what we want the kids to know about Christmas, giving, love, family, focus on Christ etc. So we agreed!

This is an awesome way to give without feeling like what you do have to give isn't enough to help or without having to choose who to give to.

Check out the link to see all the great bloggers behind this great idea=)

Help with bed wetting???

I know every where I read says you really can't teach you child how to stay dry at night.
But I thought maybe some of you would have some advice??

Ethan is 4 and is still in disposable diapers at night, he is once in awhile dry, he is mostly wet and sometime he pee's through his diaper.

We made a deal with him that if he stayed dry 3 nights in a row we'd go to Chuck E Cheese.
We tell him it is ok to wake us up if he has to go at night. We even tried to wake him up and take him last night, but he wouldn't go.

Now if you know me or my family we have the smallest bladders in the world. Seriously I wake up at least 1 time a night to go. Traveling is a nightmare for me. Me my brothers and dad make fun of ourselves all the time.

So any advice?? Did you do something to make it happen or did it just happen??
It just happened for Merci!

Love my blog

I just wanted to say how much I love blogging.
It makes me so happy to have so much stuff documented.
Now maybe you don't care to read all about my life, but all in all it is for ME!

I was looking through my blog and came across so many memories that I had forgotten.
It made my night to remember all the great times we have had=)

I think I am going to highlight some in the coming weeks!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Some reasons

I am so excited about our perspective new home for many reasons.
One big one is that we will have room to set up the exercise equipment we have in one area and won't have to keep taking it out and putting it away, which means we MIGHT use it more;)
(It also means I won't have any excuse to try the hundreds of diet supplements that are out there!)
Another reason is that a friend lives close and will go workout at the rec with me!!!

I am so ready to get my body back. I am ready to be healthy.
Josh and I plan on homemade soups and stews being our main food this winter (cheap, easy, and healthy!)

I've been pseudo shopping for a long time.
Dreaming of remodeling my house anyway I want it. With my hubby's consent, of course.

I have found some great maxim lighting
fixtures.
For reasonable prices!!

Can you tell I am excited to move into a new house????
I'll stop now.
And just so you know, we aren't running into the house and fixing everything at once, believe me it will be a work in progress. I am so thankful for a husband that can do everything!

Booster Seat Safety

When a child reaches 40 lbs and age 4 they can be put into a booster seat.

My son is 4 and not 40lbs so in my car he is still in a 5 pt harness, but we do use the booster if daddy needs to take E in his truck.

I am not here to argue the safety, or what age/weight a child should or should not be in a booster that is up to your state law and your family's discretion.

But I do have a great product to introduce for you if you have your child in a booster seat.

SeatSnug

This Seat Snug product stabilizes a child's booster seat by attaching to the seat belt itself making the fit on your child's lap snug and unable to get more slack.
It is a amazing to see the difference in movement (see video on the website).

I know that this makes me feel much better about the whole booster seat switch.
I wan to know that my precious cargo is as safe as can be=)

Who wants to come??

So I decided the other night that I want to go to las vegas during the Christmas season.
I have never been to Vegas, but would like to go for the experience, just check it out.
See the sights, the shows, see a REAL casino up close.

How beautiful it must be around this time of the year??
The city of lights.
The city that is always a show, what must the Christmas season be like???

Oh how I love the beautiful holiday season.
The sparkle, the hmm in the air, the smiles, the cheer, the giving.

I don't like the hustle and bustle, the drivers or the commitments, but the other stuff cancels it out.

So who is coming to Vegas with me this December??? or maybe next...haha.

My kinda thing

With all the couponing/deal finding I do, I love to give
gift baskets for gifts!!

I get household and health & beauty items for cheap or free most of the time, and who doesn't use those items??

I will be doing lots of this for the holidays.
With **possibly** buying a new house, and just with the budget issues we all face, why not give a gift that will be used and that saved me money!!

And if you want to learn my couponing tricks, just ask, Id be happy to share, I am actually teaching a class at church with a friend this month on this topic!!

Very familiar with

My husband is very familiar with roofs.
That is because he works on them every day.
I am not quite sure how I deal with it but I do.
And yes he has fallen off and has even gotten electrocuted off the roof before.
If you don;t believe in miracles, call me I will tell you the stories.
There have been angles watching over my husband, that is for sure.

I hate that he is so high up, I kinda pretend in my head that he isn't, and then when he is on a job I drive by I FREAK.
LOL

My hubby works on slate roofs, tile roofs, metal roofs, but not shingle roofs.
He fixes, replaces, makes better, but he isn't a roof cleaner. he even does custom copper roofs and gutters, that's where the money is! Copper!

We like those copper thieves, you keep hearing about;)

A thinking question...

With all this talk about Christmas cards (various blogs), I was eager to go in the attic and find the card I bought at a deep discount last year...cute ones I assure you!

I was going to address them and get them out, but then, I thought about it....scary I know=)

Is it more meaningful to get the card right after Thanksgiving, sometime mid December, or maybe the week right before Christmas?

This is my thought on each one, and to be clear, I have never thought about this before..so I am not judging your day after Thanksgiving Christmas card, don't worry;)

Right after Thanksgiving- You know that the person was really excited to start the Christmas season, or just wanted to get this daunting task out of the way before all the other obligatory holiday stuff came full swing.

1st or 2nd week in December- This is kinda when a lot of people send cards, so it's a normal time.

Week before Christmas or week of- I was thinking that maybe Christmas card giving was meant to send wishes to those you don't get to see at this wonderful time of the year. Friends and loved ones far away.

Do I have you thinking now??

PLEASE VOTE, in the comments tell me what you think about all my thinking.
I know there are more than 5 or 6 of you reading this, so I want to see some votes!

She is so grounded

So my wonderful little daughter, just got herself in big trouble at school.

I just got a call from the principal.

Merci decided it would be fun to open up an Oreo cookie spit in it and give it to another student.
Just because she felt like fooling around.
WTH????

That is nasty, disgusting and I didn't even giver her Oreo's.

Where do they come up with this stuff?

She was already warned by 8 this morning if her behavior didn't change she would be in her room for the night.

So guess where she will be tonight?

That is after we look at our house again.....possible bidding this week=)

SCARED

Today Ethan and I stopped at some stores at a newer shopping center.
A very nice shopping plaza in the middle of icky neighborhoods and decent neighborhoods.
I love it because any plaza with a Target, Old Navy, Super Walmart, 2 Starbucks, TJ Maxx, Applebees, Staples, Home Depot....and more is a GREAT place!!

Anyway...my husband has expressed concern for me going there by myself, but I didn't feel like there was any danger. So I've gone a few times.
Today being one of them.

I was in a ridiculously long line at the Dollar Store.
I needed some kitty toys and this particular one has some good ones.

All of a sudden this lady comes running in screaming another ladies name, who happened to be behind me in line, and also screamed call 911.

She came over to the lady and was saying how these guys were fighting, there was a lady and a tiny baby and the guy was going back to his car, and she knows he was gonna get a gun. She also said there was a guy on the ground all bloody.

What The Heck.

I was so scared, I was about to get on the ground and cry .
I couldn't really see out the window, but no one else seemed too worried.

10 minutes later I was done at the store and scared to go outside.
When I did, there was nothing going on and noone around...

What the Heck, Again.

Why was that lady so freaked out??
And why did she have to freak everyone else out.

Needless to say, I probably won't go down there by myself again, just to be safe;)

Pay It Forward Friday

I decide to take part in Iowa Moms Pay it Forward Friday!

I went to one of my FAVORITE bloggers blog
Wendy- She has 2 cute kids and is just a wonderful person whom I hope to visit someday in NH!

from there I went to Magnolia Sun- She is a Partylite consultant and also works in a doctors office.
She told a funny story about him getting locked in his bathroom and having to call her on his cell phone to let him out...LOL

From there I went to Alfred's Mom- A mom, whose husband is in the military and waiting to move to be with her hubby! A great writer!

There you have it. If you have some down time this weekend go on over and visit!!

Eye news

Most of you know that my little E has to wear glasses. He is 4 and has had glasses since he was 1.
They just fit him and I love the way he looks in them, but am eager for the day his eyes will be all better and he won't need them.

E is being treated for amblyopia, which is lazy eye.
He doesn't have crooked eyes, but if the problem isn't fixed his eye will loose sight, and his eye will become crooked.
So we would love to have his eye all better!

Some good news and some bad (not really bad) news from our appointment today.
E's vision has gotten better!!
But as he focuses on objects the doctor did notice quite a bit of crookedness.
So E will now move onto bifocals.
I feel like bifocals are for old people or something, but also understand with today's advances I am sure they won't look as bad as I imagine them.

So now we search for some cheap (no ins) & good looking bifocal glasses for my baby boy.

Was it this hard for you?

Was it hard to find your first house??

I feel like it should be easier.
Josh does have to run his business out of the garage and he does have a huge truck that has to fit in the driveway, so that does add to the difficulty of finding a house that works.

We found one, we like, it's kinda smaller than we wanted on the inside, yard is BIG for a city house.
New siding, new garage, new driveway and sidewalk, new windows, carpet in good shape (not my pick of color, but not hideous), 4 bedrooms, not 3.....closer to M's school so we won't have to worry about switching!!! But.....is it the one??

This is a harder decision than I ever thought it would be.

Want to see a picture??

Cute, huh??

Ill keep you updated.
We are going to look at 5 more houses, and if they aren't better, we are bidding!

I am excited, just overwhelmed.

My only wish...maybe not

I just want to loose these last few pounds (10-12).
This Halloween candy is NOT helping. we have so much stinking candy, at least 10 of each major candy bar (in mini size), plus tons of other fruity candies.

I have wanted to try allie, but not so sure about it.

Have you tried it??
Anyone you know?

Let me know!

It is possible to have a skinny little body again before next Summer, I know it is.
I can do it...Right??

Reality

It is so hard to think that it could happen.
To ANYONE. At ANYTIME. Good person or bad.

Loosing my uncle has been hard.
Two weeks ago today I got the call.
Two weeks ago my aunt watched her husband die as they drove to the ER.

Like I have mentioned before, I am mourning for his family.
A left behind wife and 2 sons.

Josh and I were talking a few days before about who's grandma would be the first to pass.
Unsuspecting it to be anyone else.

Just know how important it is to sat I love you every chance you get and show love in tangible ways every chance you get.
It is hard to remember sometimes but when you go through something like this, or like when I almost lost my husband, it becomes more real.

Josh and I don't currently have life insurance but we NEED to get it.
My uncle only had a small policy through his work, his family will suffer because of it.
We have decided to look into life insurance rates SOON. Especially with buying a new house soon.

Missing You

Kinda been missing you all, no comments, no time to comment to you.
I feel alone, sad little lone blogger=(

All I do is go through the house listings the realtor sends and try to figure out which ones we want to see and not want to see.
Not as fun as blogging.

I come up with posts in my head and then I sit down at the computer and I cannot even remember them.

I really hope to be back to the normal schedule and post more.
Because I really do miss you dear blog friends;)

I have a award from 2 of you and need to say THANKS and pass it along...be on the look out.

Maybe even some house updates (which there are none right now).

Well gotta go E is begging to play some xbox 360.

Missed

I have had barely anytime to catch up with my blogs or even keep this one up.
Between the unexpected passing of my uncle and the unexpected possibility of buying our 1st house (within 6 weeks) was very overwhelming at first.

I am doing better.
SO much to do and so little time.

There are so many houses for sale, and so many areas to consider, it is driving my head crazy.

But I missed you all and thought Id say HELLO.
I actually deleted almost 200 blog posts from my google reader and feel so bad, but I just couldn't keep up, I didn't feel like being overwhelmed and reading all of them.
So I started afresh and will try to keep up now.

So don't forget about me, I am still here.
I will leave you with a better post tomorrow, I think.

5 hours

....till we go look at a few houses=)
(so excited, but have vowed to not get ahead of myself)

The funeral for my uncle was last night.
Mourning is not done, but the funeral is over and it is time to heal...I still mourn for his family, and realize at some moment it is true, he is gone.
So sudden and emotional.

I'll be back in commission soon, I hope.

Another morning of bad news

Although it wasn't as devastating nor as soon as I woke up, but my husband informed me that our landlord called yesterday with some news.

The divorce is final and he lost the house he is currently living in.
Which means he may need to live here, in our home (his house), which means we would need to leave within 6 weeks.

OMG.

We have wanted a house for so so long. But our finances are not quite in order, we'd be able to afford it, but our credit isn't so pretty and we don't have a big down payment (if one at all).

I am hyperventilating thinking about it all on top of the death of my uncle.
Can you even buy a house and everything in 6 weeks??

Pray for us this week, we need it.

It's Coming Out

My days seem filled with defiance, anger, battle of wills, messes and then depression.

As E gets older it seems like each age is harder and harder.
I love the kid so much.
We DO have good days, we had a whole week of good and now 2 days in a row of HORRIBLE. It seems to be stirring up all this anger that I didn't realize was inside of me.
(Now I am seeing where he gets it)

I heard something a month or so ago that I have gleaned from, I have used it for me, for Merci, and from Ethan.

What comes out of our mouth, or comes out in action, is coming from our heart.
So if I am displaying anger, or saying inappropriate things these emotions are coming from within.
I need to change my heart.
Hearing that and now seeing all this anger come out of me and out of E has been something very hard for me to deal with. BUT, it has been good in ways too.
I am recognizing hurt, that I wasn't able to recognize before.
I am confronting it, (slowly but surely).

I can OVERCOME.

REVELATION 21:7
"He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his
God and he shall be My son.

I hope this road is short!

What if a book said....

My son has been showing signs of anger issues for awhile now, and it has been getting worse.

I bought some books from Scholastic that were about controller anger issues. It was a 3 pack. I though this could be a start to talking about his anger.

I like 1 out of 3 books.

Here is how one went...

Mad, mad, mad!

Nicholas took veronica. (From pics you can see a baby took his sisters doll)
He sucked her hair.
Yech!

Veronica (the doll) hates baby spit.
I hate baby spit, (sister telling story)
I hate Nicholas!

Uh-oh.
Veronica got a time out.
Uh-oh.
Me, too.

We have to think and be sorry.

But, we don't think we are sorry.

We think we still hate Nicholas.

Veronica thinks that Nicholas should disappear.
Me, too.

Ta-da!
No more Nicholas. (she puts a blanket on her brother.)

Uh-oh.
No more Nicholas?

But sometimes Nicholas is silly.
Veronica likes that.
Me, too.

Nicholas smells nice after a bath.
Veronica likes that.
Me, too.

And he gives good hugs...for a little brother.
Veronica likes that, too.

Veronica thinks she needs to think some more.
Me, too.

Veronica thinks she doesn't really hate baby spit. OR Nicholas.
I think Veronica is sorry.
Me, too.

I think. (As brother pulls doll from sisters and sucks on her hand).

SO...remember the red bold big letters are from the book, not my addition.

I have a problem with this book, a big problem.
Yet I understand why some may not.

Hate is an emotion we all deal with, a word we say about stuff, but not usually people.
My son has been using this word a lot, and I don't tolerate it.
He tells me he hates me when he is angry.
It hurts even though he doesn't mean it and is angry when he uses it.

Why would I want to read this word to my kid, even if it isn't something he says?

I understand anger is an emotion, but there should be NO reason to use the word hate to help a kid understand how to control his anger.

I am so upset at this book.
I will be calling scholastic, since another out of the three told about a boy who was packing up his stuff to run away (why would I want my kid to know that is an option at the age of 4???)
This book is a series that E loves and we read a lot of, I was very disappointed.

The other book was perfect and exactly what I was looking for!

What are your views about the book I shared???
NO, that book is ridiculous, Yes, I'd read that to my kid.

Brady's Blankets: DONE

I was so excited to make blankets for this wonderful organization.

I went out that day got the material and had my blankets done the same day.
Then I realized I did the knotting wrong and wanted to fix it.
I put the blanket in the closet so the kitties wouldn't contaminate it, and then I forgot about it=(

So here is my finished blanket...so soft a fuzzy!

The other side is that solid pink color.

I made 2 but gave one to the couple that is living with us and expecting their
1st girl in December.

So I only have 1 to send at the moment, but plan on sending some more in the future.
Click Here to see others blankets!

You can send blankets whenever you want, it isn't too late.!!

Cedar Point

Josh and I went to Cedar Point last night.
We had previously bought cheap tickets and needed to use them by Nov 2, when the park closes for the season.
It ended up being us and his family (8 of us in all).
It was fun, but as with any large group, it is hard to get too much in especially since they were only open 6-midnight.
I only rode 3 rides, all good ones so I won't complain.

I thought I might die (seriously was shaking like never before & hallucinating about not being able to breathe), but I went for the 1st time and it was the best ride ever!!
Here are the stats

I also went on The Maverick for the first time, it was a wild crazy ride!
You have no time to get your self ready because it takes off and goes FAST up the huge hill, I was NOT ready for the. It was FUN though.
And kuddos to my SIL (12) and BIL (11) who rode this at there 1st roller coaster ever!

Then onto The Raptor which I love but made me incredibly sick, my head equilibrium is still off today, I hope I am ok.

So may emotions

So many emotions is ONE day is hard to handle.

A huge God thing (will tell the story soon), a hurtful email, TWO good long talks, & a library date with another coupon crazed woman. LOL.

My mind is going crazy.

Need to go to bed, but waiting for hubby to finish the biggest estimate he has ever seen.
(that is another God thing...he is working overtime for us lately!)

Gonna go to bed now.

If my mind will calm down.

My Girl

Usually it is E who has the funny things to say/do it was M today!

After school we saw a pimped out Jeep drive by (we are partial o Jeep's since I drive one, and because daddy likes to point out pimped out ones!) Anyway...right on top was a HUGE dead dear.
M started freaking out....

M: "Oh my, Oh my gosh, when I am president I will make that illegal, no killing those ::start baby talk voice here:: poor baby deers, oh those poor things....wawawa" (drama queen?? YEP)
_____________________________________________________________________

When M was looking through her homework assignment books, she saw that it said
Yom Kippur starts at sundown. Her being a child who cannot be left out of ANYTHING, insisted to daddy that we celebrate Yom Kippur. Don't get me wrong I have no problem with Jewish holidays, but since we are not Jewish, me nor my husband really knew what it was they celebrated and how. I proceeded to look it up on the good old net and found out the not so desirable way in which it is celebrated (she was not interested in not eating for the whole day), she wasn't interested, she was u=interested in finding out where we could find a pool to cleanse in though. That girl, I know she was thinking ...POOL PARTAYYYY!!

Do these work?

Does anyone have first hand experience with these...

magnetic bracelet?

I have been wanting to see if they will help my knee joint pain.

I then saw some at a local craft store for $2 and almost tried it, but then realized a cheap imitation probably wasn't gonna work.

So let me know your input or experiences.

This time of year my joints are really bad, I wake up in the middle of the night with excrutiating pain...and I'm only 27, I hope it doesn't get worse as I get older=(

Miss my baby girl

Today we went to my Aunts house for "dessert day."

Elephant ears, smores, blueberry cobbler, my grandma's awesome cake, chocolate dipped strawberries....we did have spaghetti and nachos in there somewhere too
(yep, right to the thighs, I know..I'm gonna walk tomorrow, I am.)

Anyway, she has all these pictures of my kids on the wall when they were little, I mean itty bitty, in like I cannot believe that was my kid.
Pictures from when E was born and M was holding him, staring at him adoringly
(that didn't last long)...
They were so tiny and sweet.
I realized how much I miss dressing up my little girl, if she was still that little and took my fashion advice (which she DOES not) I'd be able to buy her stuff like these adorable things from
Tea Collection...oh my, it is sooooo CUTE.

Someday she will listen to me when I tell her something in cute or not so cute right??
I didn't loose that forever did I?

The struggle

...to loose weight and look good.

Why is it such a struggle?
It is something we all want, yet it is so hard to be motivated to do it.
12 pounds or so and I'd be so excited and Id be able to fit into all my pants without the sausage look.

My walking plan hasn't been too bad, but I didn't go at all last week=(
Between the rain and just being lazy, OH actually E had a field trip Monday and I went with, so I blame it on that, messing up my week=)
Good excuse, now I feel better.

I won't have to turn to the newest weight loss product trend after all;)

Wish me luck for this week!

Fall is in the air

A few weekends ago I mentioned we went to visit some friends who moved away.
While we were there we went to an orchard. It was by far one of the most kid friendly orchards I have ever been.
The had a bunch of stuff for the kids to do.

This was the Wiggly Worm, a homemade ride pulled by a tractor and the cutest thing I have ever seen at an orchard.
The worm wiggled in and out of apple trees!

Gobble! Gobble!
Hay roll.

A sandbox filled with corn kernels, was a fun idea!

Merci loved this simple idea.

Up CLOSE to the goats, they were so gentle.

Now it is time to pull out the pumpkin roll and apple pie recipe!! and Fall will be in full swing.

I love it.

Oh Happy Day

Well Oh Happy yesterday, I guess.

For a whole year (or more) the main street to get to my house from M's school has been closed coming home. It is a straight shot, but I have had to go 2-3 miles out of my way and through about 3 more lights and 2 school zones to get home, it sucked.

I have had to sit in so much traffic, got my car hit by a huge rock and had many headaches the past year because of this road work, and nos it is DONE.

It made me smile in the midst of another long and hard day with E, to see the barriers and cones ALL GONE!!!

I feel like driving around the block and around the block, just to drive on that side, that is how happy I am=)

Much to report

I am on this computer lots, but then I forget to post.
I come up with these posts in my head, I plan it all out and then I forget.
It annoys me.

Let's see...
Friday-There was no school so I took the kids to the zoo!
Lots of walking=tiring, yet good exercise.

Saturday- We made the 4 hour drive to see our friends who moved away.
We wanted to spend sometime with them & meet their little baby girl again.
We were behind schedule & with all long drives were eager to get out of the car, so I was speeding a bit (<10 mph over) and I spotted him, that stinking highway patrol man.
I knew he had me, I saw the lights started panicking & pulled over.

He: "I'm pulling you over for speed & you don't have a front plate on"
"Can I have your registration & license"
Me: speechless yet uttered "Um yeah" handing his my license "I was told not to keep my registration in my car"
He: annoyed by this, "Well they can get all the info from your car without that" (whatever that means)
He: to my hubby in the passenger seat "And sir why aren't you wearing your seat belt?"
J: "We just got food and were handing stuff back to the kids" (TRUE)
He: "Can I have your license?"
Josh: "Uh it is in my bag in the back"
He: "Why don't you come sit with me since you don't have it"
Josh: " I do have it, it is in the back."

Josh walks back with the cop

M: starting to cry "I don't want daddy to go to jail.....WAAAA"
E: starting to cry and take off his seat belt
(on the side of a busy highway, so he can see daddy go to jail
)

Long story short, Josh came back to the car with a ticket for no seat belt, an no ticket for me.
The sad thing is that Josh hadn't had a ticket in YEARS (12 Pt suspension when we met, no ticket in about 6-7 years), and has gotten 3 in the last month (for goofy stuff) this is the 4th....

Other than that our visit was wonderful!
I will post pictures from out orchard trip tomorrow, or sometime this week=0

PS The ticket might be able to get thrown out, cuz the cop marked on 2 places on the ticket that Josh was driving, which HE WAS NOT.

Had to share

What a great thing to be part of.
When I saw this post at 5 Minutes for Mom I knew I would take part.
Will YOU??

I have always wanted to make one of these, so what a better time to actually do it...
I will also make one for the couple living with us who will be expecting a baby girl in December.

Where you can get anything...

I love the internet, you can find anything you want!

A word to the wise:
If you need college textbooks DO NOT BUY THEM AT THE COLLEGE BOOK STORE.
You can easily save half if you check out stores on-line.
You can check places like Amazon books.
You can also sell your books back there for more than the college book store will give you.
You can get most anything else on Amazon too.

Keeping it REAL

I usually don't have stories of how much I enjoy being at home with my kids and how we have so much fun and how we are a perfect family, because, it isn't like that for me. I know I wouldn't be able to work and then come home and be a mom, that be too much. I wish there was an in between.

I love my children with all that I am, and do way too much for them, but I just have a hard time enjoying the hard times.

I have had an awful day today. AWFUL. Ethan has pushed every button and been defiant in EVERY way possible. My head hurts, I cannot think straight. This is NOT fun or enjoyable in any way shape or form...well I guess it is easier to enjoy Merci, since she hasn't gotten on my wrong side yet.

I know I am truly blessed, I HAVE kids, I CAN stay at home (barely, but we manage), I HAVE a family.....

The list goes on. I just have a hard time. I am not sure why.
There is some wall I need to break through or something.

The days are not always like this, there are sunshine and rainbow days, but I find them few and far between.

Maybe I have a hard time realizing all my own flaws when I see them come out in my kids, maybe that is what makes it so hard.

I feel like all I do is correct, correct, correct.
I feel like a monster, I feel like a mean mom,
will I ever see FRUIT???

His first day!

Ethan's first day of pre-school was today!

silly face...

crooked face...

Ethan was very nervous this morning, even claiming he didn't want to go to school, even though he has been excited for weeks. He needed his mommy to hold his hand for a little bit, and finally even let me leave=)

paying close attention...

by his cubby

Then time he was there went by really FAST, but I was happy to see how his day went.
It went great and he was very insistent that I take him back "omorrow"=)

On another note:
Awhile back I decided I was going to walk or jog while E was in school.
I don't want to look like a sausage in my pants this Fall/Winter, so walking it is!
There are a few nearby parks that will work perfectly!

I am happy to report I am 1 for 1, even though it was cold, windy and almost raining!
I did it and hope to continue!

Let me say being distracted by worship music from my iphone, I was able to walk, check my e-mail, text and check the forcast and the 20 minutes flew past, I almost did the walk twice, but my new shoes were feeling ouchy on my feet.

Journey Concert

I am so excited that I went to the Journey concert last night!

(brother Jon and girlfriend Colleen)

(Dad and Mom)

It all started with my brother's girlfriend who is obsessed with Journey, she goes to ALL journey concerts and even all Journey cover band concerts.

My aunt was talking about being interested in going, and we figured since she'd be in town this weekend we would all go the concert instead of our usual Dave and Buster's trip.

(Colleen, Jon and my Aunt Marcy)

Cheap Trick, Heart and Journey played last night.
I kinda was like, why am I going to this, I have no idea who these bands are....

Little to my surprise I DID!

(Aunt Marcy and ME!)

Cheap Trick...

I want you to Want me
I need you to need me!
Yep, you know it too!!!

The Dream Police, they are alive in my head, the dream police...

See you do know who they are!!
Their first album was in 1932...they are OLD, but still sounded pretty good!

Heart

Well considering I was lost the whole time they sang...yep my wonderful drunk brother left me in line for drinks and I was wandering all over the jam packed lawn looking for my group
(which was about 20 people)...I was right close to them, just a bit lower.
I seriously was about to cry.

They were great though, sounded amazing for being such stinking old ladies.
One of the most popular ones is...
What about Love.

JOURNEY

(Paul, Alec (cousin), Andy)

We got my cousin Alec a ticket for graduation, and his mom bought some for his friends!
Alec loves Journey also!

I didn't even realize how many songs I knew by them.
I knew I knew some, but I knew most of them.
Look 'em up you'd be surprised!

It was so FUN, even though the crowd was MUCH older than I.
It was a sold out show, and a fun and crazy time.

So who want to come to New Kids on the Block concert with me next month????

Saturday, September 06, 2008

My friend Terry

When I saw this I immediately thought of my friend Terry.

bacon of the month club

Terry if I had more money I would definitely buy this for you.
I know how much you like bacon. LOL.
There is no lie that there is something out there for everyone (especially on the internet).
Maybe this will make it to your Christmas list, or maybe not.

What a perfect gift, you know the recipient won't be getting doubles=)

acne?

All this talk about the 80's ( I am going to see Journey tonight, and the mall is overflowing with those fun 80's trends!) has made me remember the awkward teenage years of looking funny, thinking you were cool when you really weren't and having to look for acne products to cure that nasty acne.
If you didn't have to deal with it-good for you!
I didn't have anything too bad.
I am grateful!

Babbling

We have 2 people moving into our basement today.
I have been CLEANING like a mad woman!
The basement is usually used as a dumping ground for stuff we don't need.
I listed 11 auctions on EBay
(click link on sidebar to take a look...7/11 things are selling...whoo hoo), and about 5 on Craigslist this week.

Old clothing the kids can't fit into anymore (I don't know who gave them permission to grow so much but it wasn't me!!), a stroller, booster seat, baby swing, and outgrown toys.
I am now working on sweeping and mopping, and then I have to tackle the mountain of papers on the desk...

This morning I had to run into Marc's to pick up some Swiffer refills (I got my free swiffer in the mail last week and am seriously in LOVE..I'd never used one before).
Ethan remembered that he wanted to get some "goo" to play with and I had told him next time, well I wouldn't let him get it today because my aunt spoiled him at the store yesterday.
Oh boy..the fit he threw was intolerable, I actually pulled over in the parking lot of Autozone, and made him have a time-out.
God is working in me because I didn't loose my temper!... OH but I just remembered I didn't do what I told him I was when we got home...oops.

Ethan's funny of the day...
E (talking to one of the kitties while playing with them): "You gotta keep your eye on the ball"
LOL HAHAHA
How cute!
