Slippery when pledged!

Today I was detail cleaning this bureau of drawers that I have in my dining room (old hand me down from my great grandmother).
I sprayed some pledge all over it to shine it up and it must have got on the kitchen floor so E has slipped on it twice and I have almost fell a few times myself, kinda funny!

E is sleeping quite long, I am very impressed and Merci hasn't left her room
(usually she leave to tell me stupid stuff at lest 100 times)
I think I will give them each 1 marble in the jar!

My laptop won't connect to the wireless network, I have no idea why.
Annoying.

My husband was reading my blog the other day, when there were a lot of paid posts in a row, he was making fun of me. He thought my posts were cheesy=(
I made $40 on those posts, so cheesy or not, Target here I come=)

Got a call from a friend/pastor we know.
We sent them an encouragement letter and a monetary gift.
God used it in a big way for them.
They will keep and cherish the letter forever.
Thanks Lord for using us in YOUR plan.

Need to hear this

I decided to change my attitude today.
I really feel like most of the issues around here are ME.
I always have a horrible attitude, I need to lighten up, I need to be a mother and a wife and do all my "jobs" as praise to Him. I serve God in all of these things.

There is a book I want to read, but I am scared.
I guess I am know I need to change, but am scared to, scared it will be hard.
But really, it will make things much better, I can feel it.
Passionate Woman Desperate for God

And then this was the devotional I got in my inbox today.

Overcome!

1 JOHN 5:4 NKJ
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is
the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.
5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that
Jesus is the Son of God?

All of us have a choice: we can either make excuses, or make
progress in life.

Most people have an excuse. They are too young or old, short or
tall, educated or uneducated -- whatever. We all have some
reason to justify our failure.

But when we focus on God and His ability and willingness to
help us in every way -- all our excuses beome insignificant.

God's intention is not for His children to be defeated by the
problems of life. No! The problems of life are opportunities
for us to experience God's help and provision.

God plans for His children to overcome.

How?

By faith!

And faith is available to anyone who will feed on the Bible.
Faith comes from God's Word like physical energy comes from
eating physical food.

So, if your faith is weak, take in more of God's Word.

Then your faith will grow strong. Then you can overcome the
problems you face. Then God will be glorified in you.

SAY THIS: With the help of God, I will overcome!

An excerpt...

... from my little notebook, not really a journal, I keep tit in my purse and write grocery lists, to do lists, my thoughts, etc.

Yesterday morning J let me sleep...til 10. He even brought me home BK...Mocha Joe=)
Right after I woke up I ate read E man 4-5 books and then continued to play with him-
we played dominoes (stood them up and let him knock them down over and over)-we learned some letter-did some "school" books. The computer was NOT my first priority like usual (yeah me!!)
We ate lunch, actually sat down and ate lunch (very rare...he usually doesn't eat), he was allowed to play for another 10 minutes and then up to bed we went...no fuss, not fight...peaceful...Hmmm, see what happens when his little love tank is full.
As I was checking out a fellow bloggers blog, I saw that todays Bible reading started with Deut 8, so I began to read. It was exactly what we have been proclaiming and sensing for our lives this year...and then I realized the dream I had this morning:

I had a dream that we moved into some friends house. They were moving to a better home, yet this home was beautiful. They left a ton of stuff, stuff that we liked and would use-treasures. And then we went out back and there was this river flowing thought the back yard...which I was annoyed about because I couldn't let the kids outside by themselves. But....

What the heck it went along with Deut 8 and it was what we have felt the Lord has for us this year. I am so excited and so grateful God is leaving us little bits of HOPE along the way.

His rivers of love and provision are flowing for us=)

Hearing

Well it's been a little while. Just hanging on day by day, doing the same old things. Josh is supposed to be reading the book Waking the Dead for his class at church...and he hasn't been. It has just been laying around, so I picked it up and started to read it. I really like it so far. The first chapter is about how we as Christians are at WAR!! Does that not explain everything?? We are at war in everything we do. God loves us and has so much for us, but unfortunately we have to fight for it. So fight is what I am going to do!

After I read the first chapter I was laying in by bed and I was just praying... I think I was praying that I would just HEAR God speak to me. Let me just confess I have a horrible problem with too much peacefulness when I pray. I tend to fall asleep a lot when I pray. And let me add one more thing yesterday I was so "busy" cleaning and getting this house under control, that I didn't spend any time with God or with my little Ethan. I just went about doing what I had to do. God spoke to me and said, "Why would you want to be so busy cleaning and taking care of stupid stuff instead of resting in my Peace." HMMMMMM! Yeah why would I?? Well anyway. I was praying to hear God and that I would spend more time with Him. I fell asleep and like 2 minutes later was abruptly awoke by...the heater going on..and a booming voice saying "You will hear my voice" and boy did I hear it! So it is good to know God is speaking. I just need to take time to hear Him.

After last week when Kenny had us write down some things to give to God this season and to just have him be our foundation. I have been striving to do so. Let me share with you one thing I wrote down.

Let me love Josh's family as I would my own.

I think ( I hope..just so I am not the only one) a lot of us have trouble loving our spouses family.
I have trouble with this a lot. I do love them and care for them...but do I show it or act like it. No I complain..especially around holidays. Oh we have to go so many places, your family does stuff so differently than mine, blah blah. Well within hours God gave me a chance to do this. We went to the Schuster's for our monthly family dinner. Well Josh's Grandma was feeling pretty sick,s o she didn't come. Later in the day she called wondering why nobody called her to let her know they missed her. I felt really bad because we all go about our lives not really caring that she is old and lives alone and needs some companionship sometimes. I immediately felt like I should go see her in the morning since she lives right by Merci's school. Now I don't usually just go visit my husbands Grandma. I don't feel like I even know her very well. I was kind of nervous. I went and bought her some Italian Wedding soup..which I know she likes from a trip to a restaurant one time. I also got her a fresh roll and some OJ. Some nice comfort foods when you are sick! Well I went over there and she wasn't very well at all, but she was still doing her laundry, pressing her clothes etc. She looked very sick and you could tell she was very weak. Did I say she is in her late 80's?? I felt so bad, but everything I offered to do she wouldn't let me. Stubborn old people..no offense to anyone. Well I just sat and talked to her for awhile, and I hugged her and very truly felt love for her. I offered to help her with ANYTHING even when she wasn't sick and I think this made her day. Not that she will ever let me help, but it is the thought that counts. She called the next day sounding soooo much better. I would like to think that my love for her made her all better!

I love you Jesus! Keep working on me. I am not giving up this race!
